The Situation
Kenya Investment Authority needed its staff to have a strong, practical understanding of Kenya’s Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act 2015. Without formal training, procurement teams risked inconsistent application of the law, exposing the Authority to compliance and audit risk.
Our Approach
Trendz & Future Ventures designed and delivered a focused training program on the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act 2015, held over three days in December 2016. The training combined legal grounding with practical guidance for day-to-day procurement decisions. This engagement involved several key steps:
Assess Training Needs
We reviewed the Authority’s current procurement practices and identified the specific areas of the Act where staff needed the strongest grounding.
Design the Training Curriculum
We developed a structured three-day curriculum covering the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act 2015, translating legal requirements into practical guidance staff could apply immediately.
Deliver the Training Program
We delivered the training to Kenya Investment Authority staff between December 14th and 16th, 2016, combining instruction with practical exercises and discussion of real procurement scenarios.
The Results
Kenya Investment Authority staff completed a structured three-day training on the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act 2015.
Staff gained practical guidance for applying the Act’s requirements to day-to-day procurement decisions and asset disposal processes.
The training strengthened the Authority’s internal capacity to manage procurement processes in line with statutory requirements.
The engagement, delivered in December 2016, gave the Authority a stronger foundation for statutory compliance in its procurement function.
Provide Ongoing Compliance Support
Continued guidance to help Kenya Investment Authority stay current with evolving procurement regulations and reinforce training over time.
“The training gave our procurement team a much clearer, practical understanding of our obligations under the Act.”
